We’ve been waiting for these awesome new motors & have landed a small first shipment which is available now. I’ve been testing one at our local Te Miro tracks which I know very well & I think we now have the holy grail of e bike motors. The Gen 1 motor has been great but suffered from overheating when used hard but the Gen 2 has no issues with this. Maximum temperature running it on full power of 1200watts (they can do 2000watts) was 60 degrees whereas the Gen 1 would have been over 90 degrees & dropping power to cool down.
The 135nm of torque lifts the front wheel coming out of corners & low cadence torque has improved greatly. I love it & can’t wait to do more riding & racing with it. You’re welcome to come & test both Photons if you need convincing!
